On April 6, 2018, a bus carrying the Humboldt Broncos Jr A hockey team was on its way from their home arena in Humboldt, SK to Nipawin for an SJHL playoff game against the Hawks. Sixteen people were killed, including an employee and an intern at the local radio station, BOLT FM, who were travelling with the team to broadcast the game that evening.

With thoughts of all of the victims, their families, first responders, and others impacted by this tragedy, The Tyler Bieber Memorial Bursary will be presented to a student of the Radio Television Journalism program at Nova Scotia Community College.

This bursary will be presented to a student based on financial need, with an interest in a career in sports broadcasting and a commitment to community service, particularly within the sports community.

As a sports broadcast community, we are coming together to raise funds for this bursary to honour the memory of Tyler.
