The Black Empowerment to Success Award

The 2020 class from the Irving Pathways to Shipbuilding is paying it forward. They are behind an initiative to set up a new award called "The Black Empowerment to Success" award that will be available for African Nova Scotia students attending Akerley Campus. As part of their time at the Akerley Campus they were supported by faculty, their family inside the classroom and the combination of community programs and efforts. They are now looking to give back that same support and effort.

This award will be awarded to one male and female who identify as an African Nova Scotian. Applicants must demonstrate financial need, be enrolled in a part-time or full-time diploma at Akerley Campus and have a grade of 80% or higher.
